Microneedling
Before looking into Natural growth factors and micro-needling, let’s take a look at what is involved with basic micro-needling.
The Microneedling Treatment Process
Skin in the treatment area will need to be clean and free of makeup for any topical product before we begin. We would then numb your skin completely using a topical anesthetic. After your skin is numb, typically after 30 minutes or so, we begin gently gliding the needling device over your skin in the treatment area. Each pass of this small device will create hundreds of microscopic punctures in the skin’s surface layers, triggering the formation of new skin tissue that displays fewer imperfections. It is normal to notice some minor skin redness immediately after the treatment. Any such redness should fade rapidly within a few hours.
Natural Growth Factor Injections
Natural Growth Factors are created from the patient’s own blood. It was created to solve many people’s problems with slow wound healing and sports injuries. It was popularized by professional athletes like the NBA’s Kobe Bryant. Naturally, older athletes heal more slowly. NGF therapy allows them to get back into the game more quickly by taking advantage of its quick healing. Therapy using Natural Growth Factors starts when we withdraw a certain amount of blood from the patient. We then spin this blood in a centrifuge, concentrating blood platelets that contain a wealth of healing and growth factors. This creates a special serum that can be injected into the area needing healing. In addition to healing sports-related injuries, NGF therapy also has cosmetic applications. For example, it has been used to make the skin appear more youthful for those affected by signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles. Natural Growth Factor injections can even be used to maintain or regrow hair for some individuals.

FAQs
What is microneedling with Natural Growth Factor Injections?
Microneedling with Natural Growth Factor Injections is a microneedling treatment using natural growth factors to diminish scarring, increase collagen production, tighten skin, plump skin, and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
What are Natural Growth Factors?
Natural Growth Factors are derived from a small amount of your blood drawn before treatment. When placed in a centrifuge, platelets and plasma are separated from red blood cells, leaving growth factors that facilitate healing and remarkably enhance the results of microneedling.
How does microneedling with Natural Growth Factor Injections facials work?
A microneedling with Natural Growth Factor Injection facial uses a combination of microneedling and natural growth factors to stimulate collagen and cell growth in the body. Your blood will be drawn first and placed into a centrifuge to separate the plasma and platelets from red blood cells. We willl apply a topical anesthetic to your face to keep you comfortable during treatment. Once the numbing cream is fully effective, the growth factor serum will be applied to the skin using a microneedling device. It will then be rubbed into the skin and left in place the rest of the day to optimize results.
When can I expect results?
Results from vampire facials are incredible due to the continued regeneration of collagen. With the use of Natural Growth Factors, you will see results sooner, typically within 2-3 weeks following your treatment. Results are optimal after six months and can last up to 18 months.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime from a vampire facial is minimal. Mild swelling and bruising can occur, but these symptoms will reside on their own. You may return to your regular activities the day after your treatment.
Microneedling Pre-Treatment Instructions?
- Avoid Accutane in the six months prior to beginning your treatment sessions.
- Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment.
- Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your microneedling session. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.

Microneedling Timeline?
Day 1-3
A sunburn-like effect is normal. Your skin may feel tight, dry or sensitive to touch. Treat the skin gently by washing it with a gentle cleanser, cool water, and using only your hands to pat dry no earlier than 4 hours after treatment.
Some redness may also be present and in some cases, patients may experience slight bruising that can last for 5-7 days and temporary swelling for 2-4 days.
Day 2-7
Peeling may possibly start 3-5 days after the treatment. You’ll notice skin dryness and flaking which is due to an increased turnover of skin cells. DO NOT pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin!
Important information: You must allow the old skin to flake off naturally and keep it always moisturized.
Day 5-7
You may start your regular skin care products again, once your skin no longer feels irritated. Most of our patients have noticed continued skin improvement over the months following their last treatment.
