Polydioxanone threads, more commonly known as PDO threads, are medical-grade threads in various diameters that are similar to sutures. The use of large PDO threads can help lift areas of the face and body. Using smaller threads is more appropriate for creating volume, similar to how dermal fillers help create additional facial volume to minimize the signs of aging. PDO Thread lifts can be used to lift areas on the face, lips, neck, and body.
What to expect
Before your PDO thread lift, a numbing agent will be injected at the treatment site so that you experience no pain at all. Some patients mistakenly believe that the threads are stitched into their skin. Instead, they are actually inserted under your skin or subcutaneous fat. They can also be inserted near facial muscles based on the type of threads used in the target area. After placement of the threads, they will not be visible. Your body will naturally absorb them over time.

PDO thread lifts are a medical-grade product, resembling sutures used to lift areas such as the jowls, cheeks, and jawline. This service is great for patients with loose and skin laxity. PDO Thread Lift can be customized to provide a mini facelift leaving you with a more firm and youthful-looking face that has reduced signs of wrinkles and sagging. Beauty Lush recommends using 4-5 threads per side of the face for an optimal lift for a mini facelift. Pricing is per thread.

FAQs
What are the different types of threads?
There are different types of PDO threads available that are useful for different treatment goals. If you need a lift, barbed threads can be used. Twist threads are helpful in adding facial volume, as well as treating deep creases or depressions.
If you have more superficial lines or crepey skin, smooth threads can be used. Different threads can also be used in combination for treating different facial areas so that you can achieve your desired outcome.
How long does a PDO thread lift last?
Depending on your lifestyle factors and how quickly your body metabolizes them, you can expect the threads to last approximately six to eight months. As a result of cellular rejuvenation, your improved, youthful countenance will last for an additional three to six months.
Will I have any downtime?
A PDO thread lift only requires around two to three days of downtime.
Before Receiving your PDO Thread Treatment?
Avoid medications that inhibit clotting such as vitamin E, aspirin, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for seven days prior to treatment.
Day of Appointment?
Make sure to eat before your appointment as it reduces the chance of feeling lightheaded
Please allow enough time for your appointment as time delays may potentially occur
Make sure to show up to your appointment 10-15 minutes before your time to fill out paperwork at the office. Try to show up to your appointment with no makeup on if possible as it will make it easier to clean the area before threading
